ICSO and Zuoyun County Youth Volunteers Association Launch Public Welfare Campaign to Support Gaokao Students’ Dreams

On June 7, 2025, the highly anticipated annual Gaokao (China’s National College Entrance Examination) officially began. At this critical juncture that shapes the future of countless students, the International Charity Service Organization (ICSO), in collaboration with the Zuoyun County Youth Volunteers Association, launched a public welfare initiative themed “Warmth in Zuoyun 2025: Supporting the Gaokao with Love.” Through practical actions, the initiative aimed to deliver heartfelt support and well-wishes to exam candidates, helping local students face the exam with confidence and courage in pursuit of their dreams.

Rooted in the core philosophy of “Caring for the Gaokao with Love,” the campaign featured specially established Gaokao Support Service Stations that provided comprehensive, multi-dimensional assistance to both students and their families.

By 7 a.m., the joint ICSO and Youth Volunteers Service Station had already been set up outside the Zuoyun County exam site. Volunteers, dressed in coordinated uniforms, were in position early to distribute bottled water, stationery, face masks, medicated oil, and other essential supplies. The station was also thoughtfully equipped with sun shelters, resting chairs, and first-aid kits. Tasks were clearly assigned, and operations ran smoothly. Volunteers guided students into the exam site in an orderly manner, created priority lanes for students with limited mobility, and assisted on-site staff in maintaining traffic flow and public order.

The service station became a heartwarming sight, bringing calm and reassurance to the exam environment. Outside the test site, many parents expressed heartfelt appreciation:
“In this heat, they’ve been standing all morning—handing out water, giving directions, and even comforting us anxious parents. It’s incredibly thoughtful.”

The “Warmth in Zuoyun 2025: Supporting the Gaokao with Love” initiative lasted for two days and benefited a large number of students and parents. In addition to distributing supplies, the volunteers also offered psychological support to those in need. Through light games, relaxation techniques, and empathetic conversations, they helped students manage anxiety and maintain a positive mindset. The campaign not only conveyed ICSO’s deep concern for the younger generation, but also showcased the compassion and dedication of local volunteers in Zuoyun.

The Gaokao is a milestone in the lives of many students. But on this path toward their dreams, they are not alone—standing by them are silent yet steadfast volunteers offering guidance and care. Through this initiative, ICSO and the Zuoyun County Youth Volunteers Association demonstrated the true power of public service, bringing warmth and support tailored to students and their families during this pivotal moment.
