With the passage of time, we have entered a new era of opportunity and responsibility. Although we are basking in the glow of technological miracles and the splendor of civilization, there are still places where poverty, disease and injustice prevail at this very moment. In these fortunate times, we are no longer just bystanders, but active participants and builders of change in the world. Global social assistance has become our shared responsibility. 01 Background
The gap between the rich and the poor in the United States is a highly publicized social issue. Despite having one of the most advanced healthcare systems in the world, many people are economically far below the national average. When they are faced with major illnesses and expensive medical bills, they are unable to afford their medical expenses, and this becomes a huge burden for them. Therefore, in November 2020, ICSO, an International Commonweal Support Organization, joined hands with a local charity organization in the United States to launch the “Passing on the Love” charity initiative, which focuses on the major disease relief sector in the United States for the first time.
02 Program Content
ICSO-US works with local charities and online platforms to advocate and raise funds to help those suffering from critical illnesses. In addition, ICSO assists in the local coordination of medical resources, carefully integrating medical institutions and professional specialists to ensure that patients receive the highest quality treatment services. Volunteers are also actively involved in the program, providing comfort to patients and accompanying them through difficult times.
This project transmits positive energy from the society, and through the synergy with local public welfare organizations and online platforms, selfless love is gathered to form a strong support force, contributing to the saving of lives. In the course of the program, ICSO-US has not only generously donated more than 4 million RMB, but also assisted tens of thousands of seriously ill patients who were unable to receive effective treatment due to poverty and inadequate medical insurance.
