In the blooming radiance of June, youth pursues its dreams; escorted by love, warmth walks hand in hand. From June 7 to June 9, 2026, during the annual National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao), ICSO (International Civil Society Organization), in collaboration with the Zuoyun Youth Volunteers Association, carried out the “Warm Escort, Building Dreams in Zuoyun” Gaokao volunteer service initiative. This effort aimed to effectively serve examinees and parents, foster a safe, orderly, and heartwarming exam environment, empower students through practical measures, and convey social care via public welfare actions.
The Gaokao is a pivotal milestone on the life path of young students. It bears the fruits of years of diligent study and carries the earnest hopes of countless families for a bright future. Inside the exam hall, students hold their pens to pursue their dreams and strive with all their might; outside, all sectors of society must unite to create a quiet, orderly, reassuring, and comfortable environment. This initiative reflects ICSO’s commitment to its public welfare duties, responding to societal needs, and supporting youth development, while demonstrating a joint collaboration between international and local volunteer forces to boost education.
Coordinated Deployment to Ensure Comprehensive Support
ICSO and the Zuoyun Youth Volunteers Association meticulously coordinated and divided tasks based on the actual needs of Gaokao support. Volunteers were deployed around test sites to provide services including examination assistance, order maintenance, material supply, route guidance, emergency support, and personal care, delivering thorough assistance to students and waiting parents. Every action closely addressed student needs, parental expectations, and real-time site demands, bringing warm support to the frontline of test sites.
During the examination period, volunteers arrived early at their designated posts and quickly commenced support operations. “Love Exam Support Stations” were established outside test sites, fully stocked with bottled water, emergency stationery, heatstroke prevention supplies, and tissues. Volunteers actively guided students to familiarize themselves with entrance routes and surrounding environments, assisted with site order, and directed drop-off vehicles to park properly, striving to maintain a quiet and smooth atmosphere.
Heartwarming Services Delivering Social Care
On site, warm greetings, cold drinks, and patient directions formed moving scenes outside the exam hall. Facing anxious parents waiting outside, volunteers engaged in patient communication to ease their worries; for sudden requests from students, volunteers responded swiftly to offer convenience. With a dedicated attitude and meticulous measures, the team brought volunteer service directly to students and parents, delivering genuine warmth to the frontline.
In this event, ICSO and the Zuoyun Youth Volunteers Association leveraged their respective strengths to form a strong synergy across organizational mobilization, resource coordination, and on-site operations. ICSO integrated public welfare resources to strengthen service support, while the Zuoyun Youth Volunteers Association utilized its local roots and efficient coordination to engage volunteer forces systematically. Their close cooperation expanded the coverage and effectiveness of the service while showcasing social organizations’ responsibility in grassroots public service and youth growth.
