01 Background
In today’s context of increasing environmental pollution, the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization has brought great challenges to the urban environment. Large amounts of pollutant emissions have led to a sharp decline in air quality, over-exploitation of land has weakened the stability of ecosystems, and biodiversity is threatened. This damage to ecosystems not only jeopardizes our health, but also poses a threat to future living conditions. For this reason, ICSO-UK launched the nature conservation program “The Love of Greenery” in 2020.
02 Project content
ICSO-UK not only promotes a number of plant protection activities, but also organizes people to actively participate in initiatives to promote low-carbon life, green travel, reduce pollution, and expand the area of green space in the city. By publishing relevant articles in the UK local media, ICSO-UK calls for more attention to those endangered precious plants, emphasizing the important role of each individual in protecting the environment.
Since the launch of “The Love of Greenery” in 2020, ICSO-UK has successfully promoted the four phases of the project, donating more than 5 million RMB in total. At the same time, ICSO-UK has cooperated with UK government departments and related academic institutions to complete the collection and research of more than 8,000 plant samples. This series of efforts not only provides substantial support for plant conservation, but also plays an active role in promoting ecological sustainability in the UK.
