In March 2021, ICSO International and China Social Welfare Foundation launched the Kunpeng Project.
The program provides financial assistance to students from poor families to help them complete their education. ICSO visited five elementary school in Hunan, mainly Leiyang No. 8 Middle School, Leiyang Danyi Town Naiwan Primary School, Chafeng Primary School, Dongfanghong Primary School and Danyi Middle School, in order to help the needy with the money.
Through the visits, ICSO found that all five schools faced serious problems such as lack of teaching resources, poor campus environment, and inadequate teaching aids. The dormitories have no bathrooms, hot water needs to run a long way to receive, and the only sports equipment is a ping pong table. ICSO’s visitors said, “The fact that the children here can still be so optimistic and hopeful under such a difficult environment reinforces the path we have chosen to do public service.”
ICSO has been committed to public welfare since its founding in 2017, and in February 2019, the “Eagle Project”, whose mission is to “donate to individual students and help the future with love”, was officially established, followed by the ICSO will not forget its original intention, and the road of public welfare is still long.
