01Project Overview
Since its establishment, the International Commonweal Support Organization (ICSO) has placed great emphasis on professional research in philanthropy and social innovation.
In 2021, the Institute of Philanthropy entered into strategic cooperation agreements with two companies in the fields of public service education, social innovation education, sustainable development education, and the integration of public service with business education.
The following year, ICSO authorized the China Youth Philanthropy Institute (CYPI) as its first global experimental base for philanthropy and social innovation education. This was built upon the successful implementation of a year-long collaborative teaching and research project, as well as the incubation of numerous outstanding social innovation initiatives.
02Project Content
The Chinese Youth Philanthropy Academy Joint Project is a rural educational support initiative proposed by ICSO China Headquarters.
It is committed to addressing the imbalance of educational resources in rural China, delivering excellent educational resources and teaching materials to remote areas, and helping students change their destinies through knowledge.
In 2022, ICSO and CYPI provided educational services to more than 500 students in China’s charity and social innovation sectors, successfully incubating over 20 projects in the fields of philanthropy and social development.
In addition, they achieved significant progress in teaching and research on philanthropy expertise and social innovation, including publishing more than 20 professional papers and jointly developing the CPI learning method focused on social innovation.
The Youth Philanthropy Academy boasts a comprehensive volunteer service system, offering a strong foundation of educational resources to ensure that more young people have access to education.
03Project Significance
With the advancement of human technology and social systems, the field of philanthropy and NGOs is playing an increasingly important role across more countries worldwide.
In recent decades, the development of philanthropic organizations and institutions has made it clear that more professional, sustainable projects and management teams are crucial.
While professional talent is important, it is equally vital to help people truly understand the essence of philanthropy and embrace new forms and models of charitable work.
The cooperation between ICSO and CYPI aims to strengthen philanthropic education among young people and nurture future leaders with a sustainable development vision.
Our long-term mission is to ensure that every ambitious young leader understands the true nature of philanthropy—beyond mere giving and receiving—to recognize it from the perspective of mutual benefit and sustainability.
By empowering them with their own abilities and grounding their efforts in systematic research, we seek to incubate and create more sustainable philanthropic projects for today and tomorrow.
04Project Partners
The China Youth Philanthropy Academy was established in 2021 by Yibeti Education and Culture Co., Ltd.
The Academy boasts a distinctive volunteer practice system, guided by Dr. Ibrahim Inal of Stanford University and Dr. Anne Hall of Cambridge University.
Students can select research projects through the Academy’s various volunteer services, participate hands-on in cutting-edge research initiatives, and apply and reinforce their expertise through practice.
At the same time, they can enhance their skills in multiple dimensions and strengthen their applications to prestigious universities.
