ICSO, International Commonweal Support Organization, is an international charity organization dedicated to environmental protection and sustainable development, which promotes sustainable development and environmental protection by providing support and assistance to underprivileged and disadvantaged groups around the world.ICSO-UK, its UK branch, was established in 2018 and registered in Loughborough, UK. Its mission is to protect the earth’s blue sea and diverse wildlife, and is committed to environmental protection in the UK.
ICSO-UK believes in “Green Water from the Heart”, which means that the long-term well-being of humanity is achieved through the protection of natural resources and ecosystems. Driven by this goal, ICSO-UK is committed to advancing global environmental protection and sustainable development, and promoting policies and practices of environmental protection and sustainable development through cooperation with governments, businesses and civil society.
01 The Love of Ten Thousand Greens
People do not fail to live up to the green mountains, and the green mountains will surely fail to live up to people. Only in a green environment can human beings achieve health, happiness and sustainable development. ICSO-UK launched a nature conservation project in 2020 to support environmental protection in the U.K. In this project, ICSO-UK has carried out a number of plant protection activities, organizing people to expand the area of green space in the city while promoting a low-carbon life, green travel, and reducing pollution; and published articles in the local media in the U.K. to call for attention to these endangered and precious plants. Since the launch of “Love of Greenery” in 2020, ICSO-UK has initiated four phases of the project in the UK, donated more than RMB 5 million, and completed more than 8,000 samples for the UK government departments and related academic institutions.
02 Blue Heart
Life comes from the ocean, and the blue of the ocean is the color of life. As the environmental pollution problem is getting more and more serious, human marine waste has become a major factor that jeopardizes the marine ecology. In order to protect the marine ecology, ICSO-UK UK and the Society for the Conservation of Sea Keepers (SSCS) have carried out many marine conservation actions, organized people to clean up marine garbage, advocated to stop polluting the ocean; and published articles in the local media in the UK to call for attention to marine environmental protection. So far, six versions of the project have been implemented and in cooperation with several universities in the UK, more than 2,000 volunteers have been mobilized, covering several oceans.
03 Ten Thousand Spring Project
All things exist side by side without harming each other, and the Tao goes hand in hand without contradicting each other, and adhering to sustainable development is a top priority in this day and age. The “Ten Thousand Spring Project” is a public welfare project based on controlling the greenhouse effect and energy saving, focusing on promoting low-carbon habits that are easily achievable but can have a huge impact on a large base, expanding the scale of the project, and encouraging people to adhere to the green development path through carbon-neutral project actions. Since the program’s launch in spring 2022, ICSO-UK has launched two phases of the program in the UK, donating more than RMB 20,000 during this period and reaching more than 200,000 people in the UK through awareness-raising.
