Love Book Program
“Love Book Program” is a public welfare project launched by ICSO China in 2018, targeting education in poor mountainous areas. To improve the lack of educational resources in poor areas, ICSO uses book donation as the entry point for the “Love Book Program” series of projects, which takes book donation as the entry point and tailors exclusive hardware assistance programs to the actual conditions of the assisted schools, to effectively improve the current situation of schools in poor areas with a serious disconnect in hardware facilities and raise local teaching standards.

“Love Book Program” is a public welfare project launched by ICSO China in 2018, targeting education in poor mountainous areas. To improve the lack of educational resources in poor areas, ICSO uses book donation as the entry point for the “Love Book Program” series of projects, which takes book donation as the entry point and tailors exclusive hardware assistance programs to the actual conditions of the assisted schools, to effectively improve the current situation of schools in poor areas with a serious disconnect in hardware facilities and raise local teaching standards. A total of four phases of the project have been initiated and implemented through the Tencent Community Chest platform.
Why it matters
Creating practical, lasting value.
Poverty alleviation has always been a major objective of charitable organisations, and how to help the poor properly and effectively is a challenge that many of them have been facing for a long time. With limited resources, the distribution of goods can indeed solve the short-term problems of the poor, but in the long term, it is difficult to improve their living standards and, due to a lack of educational resources, it is difficult to find a place to live in a rapidly developing high-tech society. ICSO’s “Love Book Program” campaign focuses on helping primary school education in poor mountain areas.

Project Achievements
Since the launch of the “Love Book Program” project in 2018, we have launched four phases of the project in mainland China, during which we have donated more than RMB 700,000 to improve the quality of education in poor mountainous areas from extracurricular books and teaching aids to sports equipment and student cutlery in multiple dimensions
