ECOSOC consultative status.
ICSO has been granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This status supports constructive engagement on issues connected to public welfare, social development and international cooperation.

The United Nations, an intergovernmental international organization of sovereign states established after World War II, was formally established on October 24, 1945, when the Charter of the United Nations, signed in San Francisco, USA, entered into force. The purposes of the United Nations are: to maintain international peace and security; to develop friendly relations among nations based on respect for the principle of equal rights and self-determination of peoples; and to achieve international cooperation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character and in promoting respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms for all.
